Tron (20th Anniversary Collector's Edition)

Amazon.com

The surprising truth about Disney’s 1982 computer-game fantasy is that it’s still visually impressive (though technologically quaint by later high-definition standards) and a lot of fun. It’s about a computer wizard named Flynn (Jeff Bridges) who is digitally broken down into a data stream by a villainous software pirate (David Warner) and reconstituted into the internal, 3-D graphical world of computers. It is there, in the blazingly colorful, geometrically intense la (more…)

Tron Legacy

Tron Legacy is a 3D high-tech adventure set in a digital world that’s unlike anything ever captured on the big screen. Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund), the tech-savvy 27-year-old son of Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges), looks into his father’s disappearance and finds himself pulled into the same world of fierce programs and gladiatorial games where his father has been living for 25 years. Along with Kevin’s loyal confidant (Olivia Wilde), father and son embark on a life-and-death journey across a visually-stunning cyber universe that has become far more advanced and exceedingly dangerous.

Lamborghini Diablo

Lamborghini DiabloLAMBORGHINI DIABLO “Diablo” means devil in Spanish, a curious choice for the Italian successor to the legendary Countach. The Diablo was the first fruit of Lamborghini’s brief spell under Chrysler’s wing, and cost £50 million ($84 million) to develop.

Following the Countach was never going to be easy, but the Diablo succeeded. Above all it looked absolutely startling thanks to the gifted pen work of Marcello Gandini: The dramatic scissor-type doors were retained for the new car and incorporated a deeply swooping waistline.

The tail seemed to stretch back for ever, its long center cut-out full of louvers, its air dams looking purposeful, its profile widening all the way. The nose could hardly have been lower or more stubbed. Construction was of aluminum and composite-plastic body panels over a chassis reinforced with carbonfibre. Mechanically, the Diablo looked back to the Countach for its inspiration. Continue reading Lamborghini Diablo

Ferrari F40

Ferrari f40More than any other Ferrari in a third of a century, the Ferrai F40 embodied racing-car technology with a bare minimum of driver comforts. The name reflected Ferrari’s 40 years in racing – 1947/48 to 1987/88 – and fits no other Ferrari numbering system. It was a classic combination of massive power – 470+ bhp from the base model – and low weight , only 1100kg or 2420 lb.

Welcome!

porsche_rufrgt3smlThe  911 GT3 is powered by a water-cooled flat-six featuring four-valve heads and VarioCam variable valve timing. One of the most accomplished naturally aspirated engines we’ve developed for the road, this compact unit features ultra-lightweight titanium connecting rods, a dedicated oil-cooler system and dry sump lubrication with an engine-mounted tank. The engine is located behind the rear axle-line in the traditional 911 position. The total displacement of 3.6 liters is good for 380 hp at 7,400 rpm, or an extremely high specific output of nearly 106 hp per liter of cubic capacity.

Maximum torque of 285 lb-ft is available at 5,000 rpm, while the maximum engine speed runs to 8,200 rpm depending on gear selection.

The result is an engine that not only sounds good on paper, it is also capable of delivering the high performance and distinctive tone of the 911 GT3.

Key characteristics of the GT3 engine include optimized cylinder charging (thanks in part to VarioCam variable valve timing) as well as exceptional balance of all moving masses ensuring cultured performance at all times.
